A note
left by a nurse-researcher from Scotland in training at
The University of Chicago Medical Center for a week:
"Thank you for making my visit to
the UCMC such a pleasant one. I will recommend your B&B to
anyone I know who is planning a trip to Chicago.
Your interest in your guests and the personal touches like the
snickerdoodles Paula baked (excellent cookies, by the way!) all added
to my freeling of comfort and contentment.
And the fantastic mattress, the soft, fluffy towels, and the peace and
quiet -- what more could one ask for? I look forward to staying
with you again when I am in Chicago."
A professor from Ohio visiting the campus with
her husband wrote about her stay at University Quarters Bed &
Breakfast & Suites:
"We found your B&B to be
quite lovely. Everything was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable.
The bedrooms were comfy and warm, and the living room area and kitchen
were great. We really appreciated all of the tasty treats that you left
for us and that you were attentive to our food needs! I also really
appreciated some of the fine touches, such as the 'to go' cups for
coffee and tea. Those were really useful for us on our way to the
airport! Although I didn't need to use them, I also appreciated that
you had a printer and other things available. Overall, it was a great
stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for lodging in the UofC
area."
From
a business executive who was in Chicago for an event at McCormick
Place:
"On a week when the whole
of Chicago seemed to be booked because of the trade show I was
attending, I was pleased not only to find your lovely accommodation but
thrilled to discover just how convenient and comfortable it is! Truly a
little bit of home while on the road, and an easy train or cab ride to
the McCormick to boot. Thanks so very much for your kind hospitality --
you'll see me again!"
A
scientist from Connecticut shared his impressions:
"My stay at University
Quarters was quite enjoyable. The accommodations are well furnished
with all the essential amenities, including quite comfortable beds, a
very nice sitting/kitchen area, and high-speed internet (very useful).
The Schulers were quite charming people, and very helpful in organizing
cab rides, breakfast to go for my early flight out, etc. Certainly the
location is ideal and the neighborhood quite pleasant. I would
definitely recommend the Schulers' B&B for future guests. It
provides a pleasant place to stay, with a nice respite from the feeling
of being in yet another hotel room."
A
mother and her daughter, an incoming UofC student, visiting from New
Orleans, wrote:
"A beautiful place. Great
location. Thanks for the wonderful breakfasts. You had everything we
needed and more! Thanks again!"
Notes
from two sisters after a weekend getaway in Chicago:
"Thank you so much, Paula and
Peter, for a wonderful experience. The accommodations are lovely and
your hospitality is superb! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit."
"What an awesome time we had -- thank you so much for the lovely
hospitality. I'll remember our stay here always!"
An
e-mail from a mother from Massachusetts traveling with her daughter on
a college tour:
"My daughter and I had a wonderful if too-brief
stay at your B&B. You were so welcoming, helpful, and fun. Loved
our little chats while we were awaiting taxis! The beds were SO comfy
and the breakfast perfect. If I ever come to Chicago again, I will
definitely come stay with you."
